Frequently Asked Questions

No, you do not need a referral to book a visit from our mobile podiatrist. Simply call our clinic to book your appointment! Please note that referrals are required for WorkCover, Veterans Affairs or Medicare Chronic Disease Management patients.
The length of your appointment depends on your unique condition and the treatment you’re receiving. Call our clinic to get an indication of your upcoming appointment duration.
Please bring anything relevant to your current foot or ankle condition. This includes referrals, letters, and medical scans. We also recommend that you wear comfortable clothing and footwear to your podiatry appointment so your podiatrist can complete a thorough examination if required.
Custom orthotics typically take one to two weeks to be made. Your podiatrist will explain the entire process if you are prescribed orthotics.
In Australia, podiatry is considered an allied health profession. Medicare rebates are generally not available for visits to the podiatrist. However, Medicare will cover treatment for those with chronic medical conditions (such as diabetes and chronic arthritis) under the Chronic Disease Management Scheme (CDM). The CDM is a government incentive that allows individuals with a chronic medical illness or condition to receive Medicare rebates for a maximum of five allied health services each calendar year. A chronic medical condition is one that has been present for six months or longer. Your GP will prepare an Enhance Primary Care (EPC) and refer you to an allied practitioner such as Coastal Podiatry if you qualify for treatment.
If you have the appropriate level of private health insurance cover, you will receive a rebate for your podiatry consultation. To learn whether your health fund will cover your podiatry appointment, call our clinic today.
Yes. Please bring your DVA card and GP referral to your initial appointment.

Our podiatrists treat patients with Home Care Packages and will liaise with the Home Care providers.
